Richardson's plan commission recommended rezoning approval in a 6-1 vote, clearing a path for 40 detached homes to replace a closed nursing home site.
The compact layout centered on a neighborhood park. Officials said density resembled townhomes, but every unit stayed detached in a boutique infill design.
Plans included 22 front-garage homes, 18 rear-entry alley homes, all two stories. Homes were approved at >1.1K sq-ft and could cost ~$800K-$1M.
The project also planned 52 parking spaces, new public streets.
